The new patch to the PS3 Blu Ray player should start tomorrow and will bring about some interesting changes to the player. Sony is calling the patch Profile 1.1, so it can be expected that more of these similar patches will be taking place in the future. The main feature of the patch is making the Blu Ray player compatible with newer generation Blu Ray DVDs which contain features like picture in picture. This means you’ll be able to watch disembodied heads ramble on about costume and set design, while watching those costumes and sets. Another neat feature is that it will allows voices to be augmented when playing online. Now, your neighbor won’t know it’s you when you openly smear him in your COD4 league.
