Bioshock 2: You Play As a Big Daddy

Wow. In Bioshock 2 you will be playing the whole game (we’re almost certain) as a Big Daddy. In fact, it’s not just a Big Daddy, it’s the very first Big Daddy. Nice – and you’ll be able to adopt Little Sisters, too, as well as either killing or saving them.

There’s more stuff listed after the break, taken from the above link. They’re all confirmed as true, but not officially announced yet. Or something. You know what we mean. There’s also what we assume are a few small spoilers, so read at your own risk.

  • The game is set 10 years after the first BioShock.
  • There will be a multiplayer mode, but no details were given.
  • The Big Sister is a grown-up Little Sister, and she’s hunting you.
  • Some levels take place on the sea floor outside of Rapture.
  • The Big Sister will periodically pop up after you kill enough Big Daddies. Her arrival is apparently signaled by a Little Sister singing a song.
  • The Big Sister is described as fast and “the hardest thing in the game.” She’ll utilize telekinesis to throw objects at you or use them as shields.
  • Your drill overheats, and cannot be used constantly.
  • As a Big Daddy, you’ll be able to do that nifty shoulder bash move.
  • Upgrade trees are now more diverse.
  • The Incinerate plasmid allows you to throw a fireball or shoot a stream of fire, depending on upgrades.
  • Using Incinerate on a Cyclone Trap will result in a flaming trap.
  • You can now heal damaged turrets and bots.
  • The game will reveal how Adam is recovered from Little Sisters.

    hmmmm if its set 0 years after the first one how come ur the FIRST big daddy, as there was shitloads in the first one so obviously thts not true or the whole playing as big daddy thing is fake

    Sounds interesting, I wonder if you are able to be very mobile while using a big daddy. I agree with Superfish324, how can you be the first if it’s 10 years after the original game?

    i agree with gamoc even though its set 10 years after bioshock 1 that still doesn’t mean that the first big daddy isn’t dead and he was the first so who knows maybe the people who created the first big daddy made him able to live very long

    That is not correct actually. From what I read on other news sites, the big sister is a much faster (and female looking) version of the big daddy. Considering that you play as the big daddy, this is likely going to be your greatest rival/threat

    Djnforce. The Big sister is actually just a grown up little sister.
    After you rescue/kill them in the first bioshock, one of the little sisters grows up and returns to rapture to become queen of the city. She spends ten years rebuilding the city.
    You get on her bad side and now she wants to kill you
