Bill Gates talks about PS3
After months of “blitz-krieg” marketing of the Xbox 360, the dream machine has finally and officially launched today and guess what? It came down like a thunder. There are numerous media reports of people waiting all night to get their 360s to people making huge profits selling 360s on Ebay.
In the midst of all this Bill Gates had little time to comment on his biggest and most fiercing competitor: PS3. Gates forsees the future direction of the console by saying “We”ll play again. We learned a lot in the first round. We”ve got a chance not just to have higher market share, but also to grow the size of this market substantially.”
Gates also comments specifically on the PS3 console by stating that “In terms of how we”ve balanced technology in the machine, we feel certain we”ve done a better job than Sony. You won”t really know that until a year from now, when people are talking about how the games on our machines compare to the games on Sony”s machines.”
Bill Gates expects Xbox 360 and its accessories will produce 1.5 billion dollars globally between now and June of 2006.
