In a recent interview with CVG, Sega has said that they would like to make a sequel to the stylish game Bayonetta, in conjunction with various other games being “sequel-ised”.

However, Sega West President Mike Hayes did state: "We want to get the core games right before anything else. We've got our shooter with AvP and our RPG with Alpha Protocol - we really want to make those into franchises.”

“If you think about it, we can sequel-ise Bayonetta, AvP, Alpha Protocol, and we can make a hit of something like Vanquish. Add that to Football Manager and Virtua Tennis - we actually have a broad portfolio.”

Well I wouldn’t say no to a second game of Bayonetta providing they keep to the same stylish fun formula, but we will see if they do it or whether it will suffer the 'series sickness' (where games which start out good begin to decline in quality).
