This is actually happening. I have FW 2.0, and within playing for 30 mins it froze (music kept going, but system did not respond. had to hold power to turn it off). then it happened again after playing for maybe 2 hours, on the white screen. what a load of crap. good thing Costco will take anything back (hehe… i once returned a BBQ i had assembled
)
Richard, thanks for posting. Have you heard anything that may be a solution? Thanks!
Nothing of the sort… as bad as the problem is, I think that the cost of a recall would probably outweigh the cost in sales that the problems might cause. I could be wrong though… time will tell.
Assassin’s creed for some reason freezes a lot on my ps3. I’ve had it for 3 days and its frozen on me at random times about 6 or 7 times and my ps3 is brand new(2 weeks). I don’t get this white screen but the music goes on while its frozen. Nevertheless, awesome game.
I don’t know, I haven’t played it yet, but as a software engineer, I think I understand what the problem is. But the PS3 has little debug code when it comes to developing, which makes it hard to figure out if developers have run out of memory or something. But writing for multiple cores is going to be the future (as much as I hate to say it). Regardless, developers who don’t know how to write multi-threaded code should be drug to a back alley and shot. It’s not that hard. That’s the only obstacle developers come across with the PS3 aside from the debugging.
But.. just freezing.. that doesn’t seem like a PS3 issue if the music keeps on. Possibly a collision or drawing issue.
Its sonys new update that crashers it. They are working on the prob will relese new update to fix it in the next week.
I haven’t played Assassin’s Creed yet. But I’ve encountred this problem with GRAW 2 when chooseing squad if i scrolled through the team members a bit to fast it would just freeze up the screen.
ive been playing assassins creed for some time now. it freezes all the time. i thought it was the ps3 so i returned my ps3 for a new one and it still freezes.im left to believe its the game. Thre game is really great but it would be better if i could play without it freezing all the time. if anyone knows about any other games that freezes please write about it because i dont want to buy another game like this one.
i like assasins creed but it gets boaring…..i once jumped off a building into a heystack and the wooden thing broke and i died
