As we all try and get our heads round the many issues and personalities that will be the race for the US president in 2008, what could make it all a little easier? Maybe a parallel race but with animals as the candidates and a fake news website coving said battle? You know what they say, be careful what you wish for, it might just happen.

While this is a viral campaign for the new Playstation 3 beat em up “Hail to the Chimp” produced by Wideload games, it is an expertly written, very funny, take on modern America and her politics, all presided over by the lead anchor, Woodchuck Chumley, with Co-Anchor Juliet the Ostrich, and the bizarre Weather turtle Rusty.

The game it is promoting throughout the site looks like it will be a great title as well. With the untimely death of the whole of the wild royal family due to an unfortunate grooming accident, including the very king of the jungle himself, ten candidates step up to take his lofty crown.

With diverse characters such as Ptolemy the Hippo who’s ideology is stuck deep in the 1970’s, Toshiro the samurai octopus (no, really) who is trying to get his sea dwelling friends majority heard by the land dwellers, and the eponymous Chimp, Crackers, the personal aide to the late king, who found the simian delightful company after Crackers tried to sell him a bootleg t-shift with the picture of the lion king uttering something very un-Disney like, as well as 7 other candidates.

From the looks of it this will be a 10 on 10 slap fest with at least as many dirty tricks as real life politics to get to the top spot, we are talking arena fights aplenty.

But until the game is release this spring keep your eye on the GRRnews.com for some truly witty comedy, if the finished game is half as funny as the website it will provide hours of political style laughs, and how often can you say that happens intentionally nowadays?
