360 is Maxed Out, PS3 is Not, Says EA
The Senior VP of EA Games Europe, Patrick Soderland, said to the Official Xbox Magazine that the Xbox 360 is maxed out (graphically):
‘Sony has a lot of good games this year. If you go to their booth, there’s a very consistent, high quality product line-up and that will help them. I do think that we’ll see developers inside the organisation getting to understand the PS3 better and I think that we’re getting more power out of PS3 right now… I think that we’ve maxed out the 360 but we haven’t maxed out the PS3.’
He also says that he’s impressed with Microsoft’s motion sensing controller, Natal, and that Sony should have a headache. Still, that’s EA saying that the 360 has hit it’s graphical peak, whilst the PS3 is still climbing.

Patrick isn’t he first person to say that, either. Must be some validity if all these developers are agreeing to it. There hasn’t been anything on the 360 to get me to buy one yet, but I won’t say there never will be.
Natal might be interesting, but it still looks too gimmicky for me. There are already PS3 games that use the camera and no controller, so its not like its anything all that new. The PS3 motion control seems more practical and accurate.

360 is dying, it won’t be too long before it is forgotten in time. The only thing keeping the wii in air is the relatively low price tag and the huge fan base, it’s too bad Nintendo hadn’t taken the time to aggressively integrate it for better media thresholds.
And, as a Sony loyalist, it’s most certainly true to say that patience rewards the ready.
The only problem is that third party developers are not taking full advantage of the differences with the PS3. The 360 has stalled in quality for the last few years and the best game they have had is Gears Of War 2. Uncharted 2, God Of War 3 completely slaughter anything the 360 has not only graphically but also from a technical standpoint.
First I must say I am a ps loyalist. I have been saying since day 1 that the video game devs needed to catch up 2 the ps3 it is ahead of the dev world. Now u have companys sayin just that.Now u know why sony don’t price cut. LOL

But I don’t want either company to fail, the competition keeps the games good…that is except when games that were exclusive go multi plat and suffer *stares at FF XIII and Tekken 6*
Fall?? Xbox?? Such nonsense. This will never happen. The massive amount of available games and fanbase will see to that, games will continue to be released for it. Microsoft are not just going to shrug their shoulders and say “pah… you win!”
Oh and for the record… I am a PS3 owner !
I dont want either company to FAIL I have both systems, but my xbox has been collecting dust and hasnt been turned on for almost a year

i have allways thought that both gameing consouls have been good how ever ps3 is the one for me i just wish that the up grayds for the ps3 were qwicker other than that ps3 for ever
yeah, the 360 won’t fail. Both consoles are beyond the point of “failing”. The user base is large enough on both that there will still be games made on both and they’ll all sell well enough. There just isn’t a reason for me to get a 360, since most of their exclusives end up on the PC anyway and I have a pretty decent computer.
PlayStation 3 Power is untapped because everyone develops for X-Box 360 and Nintendo Wii.
PlayStations always have untapped powers examples like thelast few games made for the PSOne then the PS2 games that have tapped all of the power of the PS2 that they can tap.
The PS2 has reached it’s max already. PS3’s power is powerful and will lead PS3 to the #1 spot as soon as developers learn how to tap all the PS3’s power.
You people really crack me up, it is actually sad people act this way.
It’s true though, the PS2 really started getting it’s legs when developers used its full power. Only now are we seeing this pattern and the PS3 games should start looking better. I for one am sick of games that are multi-plat and look the same on the 360.

Wow GAME-HERO, that was a bit intense, over the top, and dripping with venom. I understand that everyone has preferences, but the sites comments do lean towards the “I for some reason have to belittle someone’s system because they bought a different one.”
For the record I own both systems. I think the 360 implements online usage better and up to this point the games have looked better on it (particularly sharpness of textures). The PS3 should have the better looking games in the future, has blue ray, and can get massive storage upgrades cheap. Both have great exclusives and are worth owning in their own right, which is why I have both.
It is a bit much to see much the 360 gets bashed on this site. For the record I paid less for my PS3 ($330) than my 360 ($400) and it has blue ray, but if I could only have one to JUST play games I’d pick the 360. Of course I don’t just play games so the Blue Ray wins. Since I can afford both I win =)
Its time they started to realize this, I keep hearing bull about the Xbox being more powerful, having all this crap that it doesn’t have or that no one has ever used in a game before. Truthfully even though some claim,that the RSX is less powerful than the ATI in the Xbox the Ps3 could easily just dedicate a few SPU’s to graphics and run it smoothly anyways. Yet somehow I doubt the RSX is one bit less powerful than the ATI graphics card.

LOL GG 360. The 360 fanboys wont admit it, but most people have known this for a little while now, especially after seeing the quality difference in the exclusives that came out recently (ie KZ2). Good to hear some more companies feel the same way.
Natal to me looks like a gimmick, and with no reason whatsoever to get a 360 (no games besides shooters, and most are on the PC anyway), (except for Ace Combat – I really like that game), I think PS3 can safetly say it is the best truly next gen console out today. Cheaper price for the whole package, free online, better games, blu-ray for truly HD media, better quality of hardware, its a good time to be a ps3 owner!
