120GB / 160GB PS3 rumoured
According to “reliable sources” at Arstechnica.com, the reason for the removal of the 80GB PS3 is to make way for units with larger hard drives.
It’s also predicted that this new model will come packaged with a Dual Shock 3 controller, presumably to convince more people to pick it up.
This is still only rumoured until something is confirmed by Sony directly, but numerous retailers have recently hinted that the 80GB model is being discontinued due to lower than expected sales, which would leave only the 40GB model in the shelves. We will have to wait to find out.
